A laptop that runs hot, roars its fans, slows down under load or shuts itself off usually just needs a proper clean. Our laptop cleaning and thermal service in Bentleigh East takes about an hour: full internal dust clean‑out, fan and heatsink service, fresh thermal paste on the CPU and GPU, and an external clean of the keyboard, screen and ports. Call or text 0421 388 876.

What’s included

  • Open the laptop and remove the dust blanket from the fans, heatsink fins and vents (it’s usually worse than you’d think after two or three years).
  • Clean and lubricate or replace the fan if the bearing is noisy.
  • Replace dried‑out thermal paste with high‑performance paste; replace thermal pads where fitted.
  • Check the battery for swelling and the hinges and chassis for cracks while it’s open.
  • Exterior clean: keyboard, trackpad, screen, ports and vents.
  • Before/after temperature report so you can see the difference – typically 10–25 °C lower under load.

Signs your laptop needs it

Fans running loudly all the time, the keyboard or underside too hot to rest on, games and video calls stuttering after a few minutes, sudden shutdowns, or a laptop that has simply become slow – modern CPUs throttle themselves hard when they can’t shed heat, so a clean often feels like a speed upgrade. Gaming laptops, MacBook Pros and thin ultrabooks are the most affected.

Price and time

The standard clean and re‑paste is a fixed price including parts, and is done while you wait in about 60–90 minutes for most laptops. If we find a failed fan or a swollen battery we’ll quote it separately before doing anything. Combine it with an SSD upgrade or battery replacement and the labour overlaps, so it costs less together.

We’re at 2 Bellevue Road, Bentleigh East – about 10 minutes from Brighton, Caulfield, Moorabbin, Cheltenham and Clayton – open 7 days 5am–11pm with parking at the door.

Frequently asked questions

How often should a laptop be cleaned?

Every 2–3 years for normal use, yearly for gaming laptops or dusty environments. Thermal paste typically needs replacing every 3–4 years.

Can I just use compressed air?

Blowing air into the vents pushes dust deeper into the heatsink and can spin the fan beyond its rated speed. A proper clean needs the bottom cover off.

Do you clean MacBooks?

Yes – MacBook Air and Pro, including Apple silicon models, with Apple‑appropriate thermal compound.
